Finally, Flower Mound’s first hotel may be under construction as early as spring, 2015, at The River Walk. Town officials gave it a green light Monday night.
It is proposed to be five-stories, and 140-rooms. Rumor has it a Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt or Starwood will be about 100,000 square feet with dedicated meeting/conference space. 35 of the 147 proposed rooms would have balconies overlooking the River Walk.
The hotel is proposed to have an outdoor area with fire pits facing the river. Restaurants, bars, and an indoor pool.
Scott Tarwater, executive vice president of DePalma Hotels & Resorts, is working on the proposed hotel,and is a longtime resident of Flower Mound. DePalma Hotel & Resorts will manage the hotel.
